Returns the harmonised consumer price inflation (HICP, ECOICOP ver.2) for one food or non-alcoholic beverage category in one EU member state, the EU27 or the euro area. Categories go from the whole food basket (CP01) down to single items such as bread (CP011131), butter or coffee; pass a COICOP 2018 code or an English keyword. The answer gives the latest period, the annual rate of change, the monthly rate, the index (2025=100) and the last 24 annual rates, each with period, source and licence. Values are official statistics as published by Eurostat, not shop prices. Non-EU countries are refused because Eurostat licenses that data for non-commercial use only.

### POST /v1/food-inflation/compare

Places the harmonised annual inflation rate of one food category side by side for up to twelve EU member states (plus EU27_2020 and EA20 as reference). Because every value comes from the same harmonised index with the same classification, the figures are comparable, unlike national consumer price indices. Returns per country the latest period, annual and monthly rate and index, then the spread between highest and lowest and which countries sit at each end. Countries without a published value are listed with null and the reason.

### POST /v1/food-inflation/movers

Ranks all published food and non-alcoholic beverage categories (COICOP 2018, subclass level by default) for one EU country by their latest harmonised annual inflation rate and returns the fastest risers and the fastest fallers, each with label, rate, monthly rate and period. Useful to explain why a grocery bill moved, or to pick categories to watch. Only categories with a value in the latest published month are ranked; how many were ranked is reported. Risers and fallers never overlap.

### POST /v1/basket-inflation

Computes a personal food inflation rate for one EU country from a basket of up to 25 food categories, each weighted by monthly spend in EUR or a relative weight. Each category takes its latest official harmonised annual rate; the weighted mean is compared with the official rate for food (CP011), or for food and non-alcoholic beverages (CP01) when beverages are included, and the difference in percentage points is reported, with each category's contribution. If no weights are given, the official national HICP item weights are used. One weighting must be used for the whole basket, and overlapping categories (e.g. CP011 together with CP0111) are refused so nothing is counted twice. Categories without a published value are excluded from the weighting and listed with the reason.

### POST /v1/austria-food-cpi

Returns the national Austrian consumer price index (Verbraucherpreisindex, base 2025 = 100, COICOP 2018) published as open data by Statistik Austria for one food or non-alcoholic beverage category: latest month, index value, change against the previous month and against the same month a year earlier, and all months of the published series. Pass a COICOP code under CP01 (e.g. CP011, CP0114, CP01141) or a German keyword from the official label (e.g. Brot, Milch, Gemüse). The national index can differ from the harmonised HICP because of different weights and coverage; use /v1/food-inflation for the harmonised figure.

### POST /v1/inflation-radar

Bundle answer for agents that monitor grocery costs. For one EU country it returns: the official annual and monthly rates for food and non-alcoholic beverages (CP01) and food (CP011); the three-month direction of the food rate; the gap to the EU27 and euro area rates; the rates for the main food groups (bread and cereals, meat, fish, dairy and eggs, oils, fruit, vegetables, sugar and sweets, other food, coffee/tea, soft drinks); and the five fastest rising and falling subclasses (e.g. butter, apples, coffee). Everything comes from the harmonised index, with period, source and licence attached.
